Full-Time Estimator Required

Job Description

We are looking to strengthen our team by appointing an estimator who will report to our Managing Director. The estimator will be responsible for the preparation of tenders and estimates to secure new business and will have a recognised professional qualification as well as at least 3 years experience in a similar role.

Main duties:

Lead and assemble all tenders and estimates and check all documentation.
Undertake site visits in preparation of tenders and estimates.
Ensure all tenders comply with estimating procedure guidance notes.
Prepare and submit all tender submissions to include obtaining competitive prices on materials, labour and plant.
Constantly review material and labour costs to ensure accuracy and competitiveness of rates.
Provide cost breakdowns and all relevant back-up documentation.
Prepare building quantities as required in accordance with standard methods of measurement.
Price all works in line with current market conditions.
Provide accurate take-offs and measurement of work being priced.
Develop programme plan and method statements.

Main attributes:

Ability to work under own direction with minimum supervision.
Previous experience of working in a similar environment on similar projects.
Hold a relevant construction qualification to HND or degree level.
Have a keen eye for detail and can work to strict deadlines under pressure.
Good problem solving skills and highly organised.
Advanced IT skills including Excel and estimating software.
Have at least 3 years relevant experience.
Hold a clean driving licence.
