Whitsons, a rapidly growing company in the food service industry is in search of capable, reliable and motivated team members to join our team in school lunch environment!

We are now interviewing for a School Cook in Mineola School Nutrition for the current School year! Great opportunity for food service professional looking to work days!! Opportunities for growth in Food Service industry.

Pay Rate:
$10.00

Work Hours:
Monday -Friday 6:30 am – 2:00 pm. Subject to Change

Requirements:
• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Ability to speak and read English in order to understand and perform job assignments.
• Extensive physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, and pulling.
• Experience in cooking in professional kitchen required
• Exposure to extreme temperatures (hot and cold) due to cooking and refrigeration equipment.
• Always present a positive and professional image.
* Basic English Reading and Writing Skills
* Able to Pass Background Screening

Description:
• Prepares all food.
• Serves meals to students and staff.
• Performs cleaning duties, including sweeping and mopping of floors, cleaning of equipment and work areas, dish and pot washing.
• Delivers, when necessary, food to staff, students and catering events.
• Prepares and serve food according to menus.
• Checks and stores incoming supplies.
• Collects and strips trays for dish.
• Stores silverware, dishes, glasses, cups, pots, etc.
• Participates on safety committee.
• Attends all mandatory in-service programs.
• Supports the goals, objective and mission statement set forth by Whitsons.
• Performs all other duties as assigned
