Full-Time OSP AutoCAD Drafter

Must have experience translating OSP field notes into professional AutoCAD documents.  We are looking for experienced AutoCAD drafters for an assignment in the Phoenix, Arizona metro area.

Primary responsibilities include translation of field notes from engineers and production of professional AutoCAD drawings of existing or future outside plant elements in the telecom industry. This will include placing features such as telephone poles, manholes, handholes, and running line for fiber (aerial and underground). The drafter may also be responsible for drawings that bring fiber into a building.

Other important elements of the work are:
*Consideration of public right-of-way and private easements.
*Considerations about existing utilities such as water, sewer, electric, gas, and other telecom.
*The drawing of accurate roads from various resources such as maps and GIS.
*The import and usage of GIS data generated.

The ideal candidates will have extensive experience with AutoCAD, GIS, base-mapping, and layering, fundamental knowledge of OSP design. Knowledge of AutoCAD scripting, RUS units and OSP FM a plus. 

Travel and relocation expenses will not be covered therefore local candidates are preferred. 

Requirements:

• At least ? years experience with AutoCAD OSP drafting for outside plant fiber-optic networks required
• HS Diploma, Technical Associates Degree or equivalent experience required
• Proficiency with AutoCAD drafting, layering, and base-mapping for fiber-optic telecommunications networks required
• Excellent written, oral, interpersonal and general PC computing skills desired (project management, AutoCAD, OSP FM, EWO, spreadsheet, database, etc.)
