Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervise the team of Database/ Reporting Services team and/or a software supplier and provide technical guidance, manage the day-to-day and technical aspects of assigned projects under development to release and implementation phase of the project life cycle
  • Manage on a daily basis the application project plans, technical resource allocation, unit testing, release, and support of the application portfolio
  • Manage the centralized reporting platform, including data analysis for financial & operational metrics, among others
  • Develop databases using industry standard design principles and patterns to attain high reusability and maintainability
  • Provide maintenance and technical support for existing .Reports/ Databases

    *capacity plannin

   *database security

   *constraints to ensure availability and integrity

  *backup and recovery

   *ensure maximum performance and availability of the databases

 *database replication

  • Participate design and code walk-through for review and incorporate feedback into design and code artefacts
  • Document current and future databases and their architectures
  • Maintain and enforce database standards
  • Database modeling
  • Communicate project status, issues and risk factors to project team members
  • Liaise with local Mission DBA’s to ensure compliance, data integrity, patching.

JOB QUALIFICATION:

  • completed advance university degree in Computer Science or Information Technology with
  • a minimum five years of experience or bachelor’s degree with a minimum seven years experience as a database administrator; experience in reporting services, replication techniques and managing disconnected databases; and project management
  •  excellent understanding of SQL 2000/2005/2008 database systems and architectures
