The role of a cashier/receptionist is to enable, support and maintain this essence by providing above-and-beyond customer service and perform all necessary duties pertaining to the Point-of-Sale operation.

 

Job Description

Receive and process payments from customers and package products. Open and close registers daily following company policy and procedure for Point-Of-Sale (POS) system. Support any changes or updates to POS procedures. Maintain and enable an effective and efficient POS area. Greet customers in a professional manner when entering the store. Provide customers with product location information, direct customers to proper department based on their need and request assistance from sales associates when necessary. Answer phone calls to assist and resolve customer inquiries or concerns, or direct the call to the proper department or personnel. Maintain a cleaned and organized appearance of product displays in cash register area.

 

Job Responsibilities

Accurately process customer payments in the form of cash, checks, credit card and store accounts.

Accurately process customer returns/exchanges according to POS procedure

Package merchandise during the checkout process

Issue and process rainchecks and special orders

Follow store procedures to identify fraudulent checks and credit

Open and close cash registers and balancing the cash

Provide product location to customers and request assistance from sales associates when needed

Act as first point of contact regarding all customer inquiries

Resolve customer’s concerns/issues in a professional manner

Communicate and solicit participation in our True Value Rewards Program in an effective and professional manner.

Maintain cleanliness and visual appeal of cash wrap stand area

Assist and support other departments’ operation as needed

Other duties as required

 

Basic Qualifications

Customer service oriented

Excellent interpersonal and communication skill

Detail oriented and result focused driven

Strong work ethic and integrity

Interest in cross training and working in other areas of the store

Ability to perform simple math

Available to work evenings and weekends

Flexible work schedule and meet assigned schedule

Part Time Weekday Evenings.  Salary:  $9.00/hour
