Job Description

Internship&Paid CanvassOpportunities

The Friends of Jalisi campaign (www.FriendsofDrJay.com) provides undergraduate and graduate students a unique opportunity to gain hands on experience in Baltimore County’s Democratic political process.

Internships will focus in several areas including event planning, fundraising, communications (social media), research and political outreach. Internships are unpaid but count as community service hours.

Paid Canvassers would primarily focus on field activity and door-to-door canvassing and would be paid as per previous experience.

General Duties and Responsibilities

·  Draft communications for general distribution

·  Manage data lists

·  Assist in event planning

·  Communicate with Democratic elected representatives and making phone calls to potential Democratic voters.

·  Build relationships with Democratic affiliated organizations

·  Canvassing neighborhoods

·  General office support and organization

 

Requirements

·  An interest in Democratic politics, especially Baltimore County politics.

·  Excellent written and oral communication skills.

·  Be prepared to use own laptop computers, if you have it.

·  Ability to transport yourself to various locations within Baltimore County’s District 10; personal vehicle preferred but not required.

 

Schedule

·  Must commit to a minimum of ten hours per week
