Full-Time Software-Functional Safety Engineer

Job Description

What you’ll be doing:
Gather customers’ functional safety requirements and work with various engineering teams to ensure our deliverables are aligned with those requirements.
Document and define criteria to translate safety requirements into actionable items for engineering teams
Conducting safety analyses on automotive SW designs and identify areas for improvement
Perform SW safety analysis (FMEA, FTA, DFA, etc.), monitor and provide feedback of the functional safety status
Drive and support engineering activities according to ISO26262 standards during all project phases (concept, product development, production).
Assist customers to safely integrate and validate our products in customer systems and vehicles.
What we need to see:
8+ years of experience with a BS in an engineering related discipline or equivalent experience.
Excellent written and oral communication.
Fluency in English and Japanese
Knowledge of ISO26262 functional safety methodology and standards.
Knowledge of Automotive SPICE, ISO/TS 16949, methods, procedures and tools (requirements management, FMEA, FTA, etc.) and customer related processes.
Hands-on engineering experience in automotive software.
Deep understanding of the interplay between safety engineering and security engineering.
Hands on experience with tools that support Safety Engineering lifecycle.
Ways to stand out from the crowd:
Experience working with automotive manufactures and Tier-1 OEMs
Parallel programming expertise, Exposure to GPU technology
Working knowledge of modern Deep Learning software architecture and frameworks (cuDNN, Caffe, Torch, etc.)
