About InnerCity Weightlifting (ICW)
ICW uses fitness training as a tool to reduce violence and promote professional, personal and academic achievement among urban youth. We empower young people with the positive support and community needed to say no to violence and yes to opportunity. Position Description Overview:
The Coach is responsible for being on the floor at all times, ensuring both the client and student experiences meets expectations. They are there to ensure quality control of workouts, to fill in for a student trainer if something comes up, to educate students involved in our personal training career track, and to help facilitate meaningful conversations between students and clients. They are most focused on the final two stages of our model – bridging social capital/inclusion and creating economic mobility. Their primary responsibility is ensuring quality control of workouts, and engaging students and clients in ICW mission and values.

Compensation:
Base salary: $20,000
Corporate training rate: $60-$80 per session (expect 5+ each week) Consultation and program redesigns: $20-$60 per (expect 5+ each week) Total Compensation Range: $35,000- $60,000

Key Responsibilities:
1) Being on the floor to facilitate a client and student experience that meets ICW standards, to workout with students, and teach them the mechanics and principles of exercise.
2) Helping students get ICW and NASM certified.
3) Collaborate with other coaches to design, implement and update client training programs.
4) Engaging students in workouts, and recreational activities like video games, etc.
5) Facilitate relationship building between clients and students.

Secondary Responsibilities:
1) Assisting students with various needs (i.e. job applications, studies, showing up at court, visiting
and texting students if they fall off, helping them get ID’s, permits, licenses, etc.).
2) Maintain Individual Advancement Plans for students on your caseload.
3) Connect students to paid opportunities outside of the gym.
4) Assisting with front desk check in and sales.
5) Onboarding clients and students.

Qualifications and requirements:
• BA or equivalent preferred
• NASM cert or equivalent preferred
• Willing and able to provide transportation to students to and from facility/corporate training
etc. required
• 1-3 years professional experience preferred
• Interest in social justice and passionate about ICW mission
• Excellent writing and communication skills
• Fast learner, able to collaborate effectively
• Willing and able to take feedback and adjust behavior as needed
• Can do attitude willing to do whatever it takes to move company forward
